Foreigners office appointment letter
Einladung / Terminmitteilung der Ausländerbehörde · sent by Your city's Ausländerbehörde
Act now — this one has real deadlines
What this letter is
The office writes to you: an appointment date for biometrics or card pickup, a request for missing documents (Mitwirkungsaufforderung), or the notification that your eAT card is ready. Sometimes with a deadline to respond, always with a checklist.
What to do
- Calendar the date instantly — Ausländerbehörde appointments are precious; missing one can cost months.
- Read the checklist literally and bring EVERYTHING listed, in original + copy. German offices mean their lists.
- Can't make the date? Reply through the same channel immediately with 2–3 alternatives — a proactive reschedule is fine; a no-show is not.
- Document request with deadline? Deliver before the deadline even if incomplete, stating what follows when — visible cooperation keeps your file alive.
- Card pickup notice? Bring your passport AND the old card (plus the letter itself); fees are often payable by card only — check the letter's payment note.
